Federal Supply Group 40, Rope, Cable, Chain, and Fittings, encompasses all ropes, cables, chains and appropriate fittings, including specifically designed ones. This FSG includes rope, cords, twine, and chains of various materials such as fiber and wire, and their fittings such as hooks, shackles and wedges. Note that while FSG 40 includes many different fittings and accessories for ropes, cables, and chains, it does not include power transmission chains; slings; clamp blocks; and support hooks.
